Feeling the sea

Does the sea seem different every time you visit?

Yesterday, we paid a visit to our nearest sea shore. Beach -if you want to call it.

And it looked and felt different. Grey clouds that were about to explode crowded the sky. The wind blew harder. We had our rain coats on. There were fewer people. Everything had a tinge of grey. And my mind was in contemplative mode. It was the perfect weather to write. There was this Casino boat, which surely did not belong there, that lay at the edge of the beach as though it ran into the sand. It was a meditative time. We all didn’t speak much and it felt OK. Koch and I stood close to each other watching our son scattering the sand he picked up, in all directions. The wind blew on. The waves got madder. Our hearts were still.

The last time we went it was markedly different. The day was pretty warm and the sun, balmy. There were a lot more people. We dared to step into the water and get wet. We had a family members who were excited about the beach. So were we. It was the first time for all of us at Miramar. We took a lot of pictures. Our son played in the water. We all got wet. On the beach and in the pictures, mirth stood out.

The everchanging sea at the same place invoked two different worlds in us.
