Robert Sherriff — WAR
In the tempest of conflict, souls collide,
The echoes of battle, where peace has sighed.
A tapestry is woven with threads of despair,
War’s haunting refrain, an endless affair.
The cries of the wounded, the fallen, the lost,
Their stories are untold, an immeasurable cost.
In the annals of time, where history’s drawn,
The scars of war linger, like a shadow at dawn.
Yet amid the chaos, a flicker of light,
Hope’s silent anthem, amidst the darkest night.
For in the hearts of humanity’s brave,
Resides the yearning for peace to engrave.
So let us weave verses of courage and grace,
To mend the world’s fabric, to embrace,
A future where conflicts no longer ensnare,
And the tapestry of war fades into the air.
