If you play music, you can relate to everything in this world.

In my journey through music I have met a lot of people. I have met a lot of different people, people with opinions, people I liked and people I did not like. I have met people that reminded me of myself and people who did not. What all of them had in common was the interest in music and the ability to work together on a common project regardless of differences or similarities there might have been between me and them.

The important thing here is that you learn to cooperate with people who are different than you. But instead of working with them on a project that is measured by letters and numbers you work with them on projects where you learn them from the inside and out. Music is communication and by communicating with different people you both learn a lot from them but also a lot from yourself. You get to know yourself better.

This is a thing that is constantly evolving and by working on an emotional level with other people you dig deeper and deeper into yourself. You learn to take responsibility of your own actions and you learn to express yourself in your own way and in a way so other people can abstract and hear your voice from others’. Personally, I think that jazz music and improvised music strengthens this development of your self-conscious in the best way possible. Your are forced to constantly improve, create and develop your sound and expression in every tune you play.

People on the street

When you understand yourself and people that you are working with, you are able to stretch your understanding for other people as well. That makes you more tolerant and much more cooperative in future projects or life situations where you need to analyse and make the best out of a relationship. No matter how good or how bad a relationship turns out to be both in a professional or a personal way the most important thing is to learn from it.

By accepting the fact that learning is a crucial process, you are able to create meaning out of everything. And that is very important. Due to this you are protected from stress and thoughts that make you think that you are wasting your time.

This is but one thing that I have learned from playing music. And I am using this valuable knowledge in my daily work with Onlime.dk.
