For many start-up journeys, it all begins with a leap of faith into the unknown…but perhaps none were so dramatic as with Lou, Founder of Twisted Kombucha, who knew her old life was no longer making her happy. With certain stable foods, there’s a tendency to stop dreaming up ways to change and modernise. Before we met Flat Earth, that was true of my perception of pizza; I’d got doughy, and settled for a processed product, topped with the same stable ingredients. But now? I can’t go back. Flat Earth, with their dedication to producing high-quality pizzas with purpose, which use locally grown, seasonal ingredients, have ruined other pizzas for me in the best way possible. We spoke about their experience challenging the norm at every stage, and how they’ve transformed East Londoners into true Flat Earthers.

Here at Forward Fooding, we work with a number of start-ups who are committed to bringing the tastes of the East and infusing them into the West, but perhaps none have taken it so literally as Miss TeaSmith. A delightful blend of traditional Sri Lankan flavours with contemporary flair, her teas are disrupting Britain’s traditional tea-drinking culture as we know it.
