I know you’re being facetious with people’s lives here but that’s also a serious problem that we have an actual working solution to. The highest end luxury cars from virtually every manufacturer all employ sophisticated radar/laser systems that can prevent many (arguably all, as tech gets better) accidents, but they’re not universally available.

I wish the mandate that all cars get backup cameras in the US would also include a mandate that all cars get some sort of crash avoidance/auto-braking systems in the next couple years. We could reduce that figure greatly in just a couple years with existing technology.
