Since November was not so productive — I used the term “idle mode” for November and looked back at some (not all) milestones that happened in 2019.

Here’s how my year went:

👶 Become a father.

🔥 Sold Supporthero.io, Paris based business that (still) provides an advanced knowledge base system for SaaS apps. SH serves +1500 customers in +60 countries to gain a deeper understanding of customer behaviour, optimise customer support requirements and reduce support tickets by up to 50%.

*Thanks to Florian, my co-founder and Emeric an early investor.

📖 Read 32 books (of 50)

*Thanks to David Cancel for being a role model here. Follow David’s personal podcast where he touches on many different aspects of a business.

📉Founded a new company, soon after having a setback in building an effective team, I stepped back, re-building it again and expecting to launch in March 2020!

📈Co-founded another SaaS business with David, Cem and
Mert. ReferralMagic, a referral tracking software that helps eCommerce companies to virally grow their business.

🏦 Co-organised (organised, lead operations, managed people) three global and one regional conference in SaaS and entrepreneurship space with guest speakers/companies vaulted over $1B.
*Thanks to SaaStr, Vasil from Growth Marketing Conf, Sean Ellis among others.

🗒 Followed “NOT-TO-DO” list and it is proving to be a game-changer!

📭 Got to INBOX 0.

🧐 Mentor to +10 SaaS & e-commerce businesses.

📵 Fun fact #1: No phone or social media before leaving the house in the morning.

☢️ Fun fact #2: I’ve never argued on Twitter.

Lessons learned:

  • A good idea is to behave well to other people, show them respect. And help them as much as you possibly can and it will be repaid hundredfolds.
  • Be the best in your darkest hours.
  • Compare yourself to your past self, not others! That’s easier said than done…
  • Get rid of toxic people. Now. NOW! Haters will first laugh at you, then doubt you, then fight you. When they start asking you if you are hiring, then you’ve won.
  • But never, ever give up.

I’m not a big fan of announcing New Year’s resolutions. It’s kinda personal.

Also.

Nobody f*cking cares.

Just walk the talk.

When something is important enough, you will do it even if the odds (and people) are not in your favour, give your 101% and take responsibility for the results.
