Feel, embrace and heal!
There are times when you can see that if you keep moving ahead, you might fall off the cliff. A fall so severe and brutal that you might not survive, but you still keep going. You hope that may be there will be a parachute to save you, or maybe it will be a smooth ride and you will slide off the mountains. That doesn’t happen. We get broken from that fall, in places that are not typically mentioned in the biology we studied in school. We realize that we survived hence we get up and start living again, unknowingly trying to reach new heights in our lives. Then there is some other cliff and another fall and the cycle continues.
The good thing is that the above mentioned things happen only to those who are living and are not mere breathing-bodies. We need an enormous amount of courage to take a minute and feel the pain, realize that we are hurt; fortunately not everyone is capable of doing that. If everyone was, the world would be a mess. Take it as a pro of the trend of living a fast paced life. One doesn’t have time to recognize that there are emotions that are unfulfilled and unreciprocated.
While we are trying to overlook the deep wounds, we live in an illusion of being strong, not realizing that we are just running away. The default mode of our mind is set on the ‘escape’ mode these days, where we do not even like to think that we are hurt, as soon as we break up, lose a job, have an argument, we start looking for alternatives. We hit the gym, go for endless number of parties, start doing umpteen number of things to keep ourselves busy. We have become so scared to confront our emotions that we don’t know how we will react if get absolutely free for a week.
If we look back to our previous generations, we will be stunned to realize the amount of free time they had, and yet there were no cases of depression. We are living much comfortable lives now, we have more money, we invest it smartly, have a lifestyle suitable to our will, and still there is a constant uneasiness.
Nobody said life would be just about the beautiful beginnings and happy endings, then how come we reached this idea. Life must be so much more in between these two things. The most beautiful creations are never perfect, they said, so how have we stopped looking at the other side. The reason virtue has its value is because sin stained someone. Why do we keep running away from the darkness of our souls, and how will we know that we have reached the end of the tunnel if we keep our eyes closed?
I guess the key to that specific moment of bliss lies under the bed in a dark room. If one is willing to find it, one has to risk getting hurt every now and then, sometimes by tripping over something, other times going by the instinct only to find there are few more steps to go. The good thing about tripping over small things is that you wake up to realize that there was, indeed, an abyss at the end. Sometimes you are actually saved.
Let us take a while to feel the pain, I know we don’t have to spend our lifetime mourning someone’s death, but a couple of tears won’t hurt. We all know about the crying therapy, right? Take a while to understand and accept that we are humans and it is wonderful to have a heart that feels pain and sorrow, these are signs that we are still human beings, and emotions are what bind us together. Get ready for a party when you really are. This time not because you have to run away. Believe in the divine goodness that exists in all of us, and hope that things are now going to get better because you survived another fall successfully.
