I know you’re right into blockchain & for credentialling I’m very much on board (though I also have an idea that credentials based on time periods of learning should have a lifespan… how long should a badge/certificate last if I lose the skills or knowledge?).
I’m very hopeful that there will be system-wide (and system wise) innovations coming out of traditional institutions as tech startups, for profit companies and many other entities now influencing education haven’t the same accountability structures or standards of quality that teachers & schools are held to. Not to say they can’t play a positive and supportive role, but there will always be a place for professional, qualified, passionate teachers as part of a system (just with more network, less hierarchy).
