How To Quit Your Job the Right Way

Hello James,

This was a very enjoyable read. It rambles a bit in places, but very good advise. To sum up, you are talking about what I call “the box”. Where a person feels they have to get a job, make a living then die. Actually I missed a part where a person is supposed to go to college THEN get a better than “normal job”…etc…then die! For me, I broke that mold along time ago. And the idea generation your talking about will eventually break you out of the box…but anyone can do that now. Just stop doing what you are normally doing. Rather, some ideas I had, I believed so ardently, like converting animal and human waste into energy is a REAL viable solution. In order for THOSE ideas to work, I have to break OTHER BOXS TOO. One idea was to create virtual networks in GNS3 and then tell the owner they have no right to my idea! So in essence my ideas need boxes, and I need people to stay in them. Of course no one listens to me, but most people should ask themselves why am I listening? Where is their box? Let’s NOT do a.), b.) c.) and just go straight to z. When you do that, you change elements and upset people. But the last part I think you missed is the time it takes to get over the awkwardness to fully committing to it. I don’t know what to call that period of time but it’s definitely a social delta that gives ample time for the inventor to become the master of a new industry. We are all capable of doing it, it just takes time to accept it. It takes no time to reject it. Thanks for this post. I’m glad there are others out there who question and experiment MORE than I care to.
