Matt Bayne

It’s a choice, and a powerful one at that.

Today, I’m grateful for:

  • my father, who is celebrating his birthday!
  • our 4 daughters, who bring smiles, laughs, (and some frustration)
  • friends who are vulnerable about their struggles
  • cool spring breezes
  • the fulfillment of hard physical work

Gratitude has a powerful ability to change the direction of our mood for the better.

“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing.”
Seneca

Today on Mother’s Day, my heart is full with memories and gratitude.

For my mom. The woman who quite literally pushed me into this world. You have never stopped reaching down to help me up and tell me that you love me.

For my wife. The woman who said “YES” to our adventure together. You continually shown quiet strength and effortless grace.

For my mother in law. The woman who raised my wife. You have passed on a legacy of strength and resilience.

For my four daughters. The women that you are becoming. The mothers that you will be.

For all the mothers, and those who long to be. Thank you for your love and care. Your nurture and gentle strength are priceless.

Happy Mother’s Day!
