Amazon Spark… Is it the future of social Shopping?
Amazon is well on its way to becoming it’s goal as “Earths Most Customer Centric Company”. Amazon is a company that no matter where it looks it is providing an experience that customers are loving and continue to use. Amazon has about a 50% market share of ALL online shopping and the boxes will be showing up on door steps in Australia soon with Amazon Australia recruiting for their distribution base in Victoria with hundreds of jobs expected.
Amazon is more then just online store it is — Earths most customer Centric Company creating an enjoyable experience.
Many of us remember when eBay came out and online shopping becomes a service that would ruin “traditional” businesses, Amazon will be this plus more… When eBay and early 2000 rise of online shopping consumers were worried about putting our Credit Card information online as this is where the cyber criminals were watching. Plus it was not long ago when I just 10 years old growing up in Adelaide and being told by our schools “not to talk to strangers” and don’t get in car with someone we don’t trust… Fast forward 12 years and Uber has changed the way we travel, We are now staying in complete strangers house because they have a 5-star review on AirBnB and we are still alive to leave another review.

No doubt you’re asking what does AirBnB, Uber and eBay in the 2000s all have in common? Well, it has created and changed a whole generation. We now trust the unknown if we trust the company we are using and Amazon have been doing this for years in the US, UK and other parts of the world when it comes to online shopping. This means that once Amazon has launched the power of this platform will be a game changer. Thing eBay on steroids and you also get to purchase from your favourite shops who also use Amazon to fulfil the products as the cost to serve will be low.
And now they have announced another game changer… SPARK
Spark is a Pinterest meets Facebook meets “direct 2 consumers” shopping network. Where you can find, follow and share your interests who are Amazon users. We get to discover new passions that we care about and then inspire others (like Pinterest) but we can also connect (Facebook) and shop directly for that product all from the one platform.

Spark will provide Amazon with a way to speak to consumers directly using content curated by the Amazon Community using their own social media network. What are the risks of using Amazon Spark, well no doubt they will track everything you do when logged in to directly target market the products that you have liked, followed, commented for an overall better shopping experience.

How will you as business take advantage of this… When Amazon comes to Australia (or if it’s in your country already shout out to all my reader’s world wide 💗 ) you can take advantage of this platform by being an earlier adopter of the overall platform including putting your products on the Amazon Shopping network.

We are looking forward to Amazon’s arrival as it will be a game changer and we love working with businesses on their digital transformational strategy because if you don’t do it your competitors will!
