Counterpoint: Why is it so difficult to find a front end developer job?
I am currently in my last year at school studying Information Technology and Web Science, a really fancy way of saying web development. So for the past three of four months I have been madly applying to multiple companies because my security of school is running out very quickly.
The problem is that even though I have done many projects through school and out of school, companies simply aren’t looking for front end web developers. Most companies are looking for strong backend developers, or designers.
The only reason I can think of that would explain this is that most companies undervalue front end developers, assuming that designers and backend developers can simply take on the skills needed and tasks required of a front end developer. This basically means that I need to start marketing myself as one of the two above that companies are looking for.
