Passive Income: Week 1
Hi all, it’s been a little over a week since I leaned into my passive income project with full force. I wanted to give an update and try to show what it’s like pushing through. I feel right now my challenges mostly reside within myself and not so much external challenges. Ideally that will change.
So, in short, I’ve started building my book review site BooksChange.us (heavily under construction). Invested some money in a WordPress theme for the first time. Bought a domain, set up the hosting. Now just trying to lay things out and build the content.
The mania has died down but I’m still trying to work on it or, something related (like this blog) every day. This is the long haul and I feel staying focused is key. I’ve already had doubts about my idea, like, who would want to read my reviews? Who would visit this site? Am I really offering anything new here? This in turn makes other ideas look shiny and in the past I would jump ship and head for something else. Inevitably though, the next ship gets jumped as well until nothing at all gets finished.
This Monday started out rocky at my day job for unrelated reasons but I got to have a lunch meeting with a couple other entrepreneurial minded friends. This was a huge morale booster for me. This is the first we’ve met (for this purpose) but we’re just getting together in the hopes of sharing information as well as encouraging others and holding ourselves accountable to our goals. With just one meeting I can tell this is something that will make a big difference in where I get with my goals. Just talking about my passive income work online has caused various friends to come out of the woodwork and want in on this sort of mastermind group that came out of nowhere.
Below is a small piece of our conversation. Notice how these guys are able to turn my perspective around in just a matter of minutes, from doubting to inspired.
