Pierre makes a good point about reinforcing the emphasis on value added tasks. To do so, it’s important to understand the bigger strategic goal behind each task- if you don’t know, ask the stakeholder so you can see the value you add & prioritise it accordingly.

Therefore, ‘no’ might first become ‘why?’ What is the value in me doing this work or attending that meeting? Understanding the outcome is the beginning to calculate value.
