You Don’t Need To Read Every Tweet
At the moment you are probably looking through your Twitter timeline for tweets from your favourite people or businesses on Twitter. You see a lot of tweets that you are not interested in at all, you only want to see all the tweets from your favourite people or businesses whoever they may be.
Did you know on average the normal person tweets around 22 times per day, if you are following around a 1,000 people how many tweets do you think you will see in a day?
1000? 3000? 7000? 14000? Keep going, the answer if you are wondering a staggering 22,000 tweets per day.
Here’s a useful tip for you, instead of reading every tweet, filter out the noise with lists. You may be thinking how do I do that, read on and you will find out how.
Here’s a list I setup called Marketing containing 23 of my favourite marketing related Twitter profiles, you can of course add more accounts to your list or just have a few people in them.

How to setup a list on Twitter of your favourite people and businesses.
Before we get into how to setup a list, you can have more than 1 list, for example I have a list of Welsh Businesses, Agencies and Entrepreneurs. You may have a list called Business and another list called Startups it’s up to you.
1: Log into your Twitter account and enter this link in your web browser replacing Username with your username – https://twitter.com/Username/lists
2: Click Create new list on the right hand side of the screen. Then give your list a relevant name and add a description if you wish and also set the privacy options either Public or Private.

3: Add people or businesses to your relevant lists by clicking the gear icon on someone’s Twitter profile and then click Add or remove from lists then select the relevant list in this case Marketing.

4: To view one of your list’s at anytime visit this link, replacing Username with your username. Then select a list you wish to view and thats it – https://twitter.com/Username/lists
I hope this gives you a better way to see the tweets you want to see rather than thousands you are not interested in.
