Why the most successful people are irreverent

As a child you are told that the word ‘respect’ is reserved for those more accomplished, wiser and richer than you.

We are taught that in life that by being respectful we should be as lucky to be ‘respected’ in one of those areas in our lifetime.

But I beg to differ.

Respect is limited to having an open mind to learn what has worked for someone else, but it should not be mistaken as something that will work for you.

That is why the most successful people are irreverent.

The most successful people learn from other people’s lessons and think to themselves I can do better. They do not hold the falsified perception that the ‘respected’ have the best answer, instead they question them always.

Staying irreverent means to stop thinking in the mindset of others and starting thinking in your own.
