I wonder if the answer to this question is irrelevant — particularly when thinking about this from the viewpoint of theories such as the Gaia hypothesis by James Lovelock and the species-centrism intrinsic in analyzing human impact from the human perspective within an individual’s relative perspective on phenomena.

It’s entirely possible that the trend of our destruction and invasiveness may flip on its head regardless of our decisions or our morales and our absurd notion that we are somehow extrinsic to the mechanics of this existence.
