Health-tech: Medical Passport

The healthcare industry has operated over the last decades in pretty much the same way. Whether you look at the emergency room, admitting, surgical, or medical records everything seems to have been in a permafrost of sorts. Why?

Shaking Up the Medical Industry

The medical industry is in a dire-need of change, and bringing in additional technology-led devices and services will be that bearer. From innovative software-based insurance start-ups such as Oscar, incredible changes are being brought to an industry that is stuck in an era of overpriced hedging by the rich, and poor user experiences no matter what section of society you belong to.

Oscar provides an amazing insurance experience through innovative technology and amazing customer service.

We have an abundance of start-ups that are working to fix superficial segments of life. They have their place in the ecosystem, but why is the world scared to help improve sections of life that hit home to everyone?

A Medical Passport

I get it, branching into the healthcare industry can be a daunting process. Even more tough is securing patient data, while abiding by HIPA laws. Would it not be rewarding to actually build something that changes the way millions of people interact with their doctor’s, the hospitals, though?

Today most medical records throughout the world exist in either hard-copy, or in a useless digital format that is inherently insecure and an organized mess. When you visit a new doctor, they have to be emailed or faxed over.

What if we could have a Passport for the medical world, just like we use to travel the world? Your records would be securely available whenever and where-ever you need them, regardless of your doctors office hours. Include enhanced privacy and security and you have a new, effective way to communicate patient information between offices at the speed of light, not the speed of fax.

This would be an effective first-step to providing a better care experience for everyone, let’s build it?

Ivory Health

A early Ivory mockup.

Ivory is an attempt to bring this service, amongst other expanded features, to the world: Office, Physician, User. The world needs a true healthcare platform that is smart, incorporates data from sources such as Apple Health, Insurance, Prescriptions, Medical Records, and more.

Such a healthcare platform could provide an immense improvement in patient care through better doctor/office communication, ability to view health trends and history in easily digestible formats, and the first-ever ability to review patient trends such as skipping medication doses and more.

Let us create something that the world truly needs.
