Hah, I appreciate your sense of humor. I promise that when debate returns to Brigade people will still be able to see the reasons “for” and “against” each position. This isn’t about creating echo chambers, but we also had to acknowledge that some product choices we made last year didn’t work (by any user metric you want to pick). Emphasizing free form comments from every user on the platform on the same piece of content led to what it does everywhere else on the Internet. Exhibit A: online newspaper comment boards. The reality is that even Reddit has subreddits and Twitter is relatively decentralized compared with the last iteration of Brigade. We just need to rethink Home and a few other design choices we made. Thanks for reading the post.
