…, often because I don’t understand something, or haven’t thought it through, or lack key knowledge. I would get stuck a lot in the past because I was trained to get As in school, and pass tests, not to struggle with an empty void where nothing makes sense yet.
There is huge geometric improvement from doing the same kind of thing, intensely, every day, all day, and learning more each time you do it. I haven’t yet achieved mastery, but I can see what it is. Your decisions get more intuitive. You see more, and so you can do more, and do it faster.
The irony goes deeper. What is Google’s politics? Google is “Progressive”. “Progressive”, that perversion of a word which means Socialist, or more precisely: “Socialist of the early 21st century who mistakenly believes that Socialism’s vision of State imposed morality can be reconciled with freedom.”
… where politics spills over its old levees and becomes a concern for more people and organizations. At the same time, I tend to view America as in the political divorce phase, where it’s no longer a fraught but workable marriage of people with conflicts, but more of a hard break, where many are moving to live and date and work with only the like-minded.
