How Did Frank Ocean Tolerate Odd Future’s Homophobia?
Matthew Reyes

They were often compared to Wu-Tang because they both were huge collectives where every individual was allowed to shine. But the comparison doesn’t fit because Odd Future was going for pure democracy while RZA controlled everything as Wu-Tang’s undisputed leader. Tyler, the Creator may have been Odd Future’s de facto leader but you could tell he didn’t really want to be — he just happened to be the group’s most charismatic and creative member. He wanted everyone to pursue their own goals and the group was just a group of like-minded friends that supported each other.
