I agree with you on your point about cricket games. There’s no moral calculus I would dare to come up with to weigh the crimes and sufferings of war against others, or to suggest rules of conduct under unimaginable conditions.

If there’s any opinion I have on this most extreme part of history, it’s that terror and trauma found its way everywhere during the war, even in the parts we sometimes neglect. Well, that, and that I don’t look too highly upon mass rape.
