The Boy Who Wanted to Rule the World

‘Uncle, how does one rule the world?’

‘Wisdom, my dear boy.’

‘Wisdom?’

‘That tree and that rock,’ the uncle said. ‘Bring them together, and you’ll prove wise enough to achieve anything.’

He pushed and pushed but could not move the rock. He pulled and pulled but could not shake the tree. So, he built around them a wall as to be able to concentrate his efforts on them alone.

Only in his old age did the he notice how at peace they seemed. He realised then that he had indeed brought them together, without ever having to move them.
