We need leaders who are willing to admit failure and defeat, who accept criticism, who inspire confidence through compassion and understanding, who apologise openly and who listen intently
What makes leaders toxic?

This is key. Leaders need to ask for feedback from a wide range of people and listen to it. There is nothing more demoralising than decisions being made for you, without your input, about something you have personal expertise in or passionate about. You get better decisions, with more staff buy in, when more people are involved in the whole process. It’s probably more complex, sure, but going to be better in the long run.
