Pressuring KSA isn’t going to work. This is a simplistic solution that would ruin our relationship with KSA and accomplish no results. Here’s the problem- were not going to get KSA to stop supporting wahabbi madrassas because the very existence of the monarchy is predicated on a deal with the conservative religious establishment. The clerics ignore the monarchy’s decadence and give them legitimacy and in exchange the monarchy gives the clerics free reign over religious life and let’s them export their ideology. If the monarchy shuts this down, they face internal revolt. It’s a devils bargain.
