Congrats RJMetrics team! Introducing: Voyager Scientific.

Today, Magento Commerce announced it will be purchasing RJMetrics. It’s truly been an awesome experience helping build the company from 10 devs in a humble Philly office into what it is today. Congrats RJ Team.

RJ will live on as the analytics product in Magento’s ecommerce offering. For those who aren’t familiar, Magento is one of the worlds most popular shopping carts. You’ve very likely bought lots of things through it and not even known it. The people who run the shopping cart need to understand how much they’re selling, and why. That’s where RJ comes in.

I joined RJ in late 2011 as UX designer, the first non-dev hire. Over the past 4.5 years we’ve shipped a tremendous amount of code for such a small team, and made our customers really happy. Trust me, a ton of work goes into making sure the chart you look at every day has the correct data in it.

What’s next?

Over the past couple years I’ve been bootstrapping a consultancy with some great customers, and I’m stepping out of my role at RJ to pursue the business full-time.

It’s called, Voyager Scientific, and we make technology that helps you automate your business. You probably have stacks of paper floating around your office with your company’s data. We create a process to eliminate that situation. We’ll deal with everything from workers submitting consistent time sheets, to tracking and reporting on activity that takes place within you’re office. Then, we’ll consolidate that to give you one central dashboard for managing your business.

If you’re interested in learning exactly how we’ve done that for our customers, check out some case studies here:

It’s another mountain to climb.

Thanks RJ team!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the RJ ride, it’s been that the team makes all the difference. The RJ crew are truly world-class, and I’m lucky to have been a part of it.
