Adding to this, I would love to be able to segment my stats by types of readers. My most-read story so far was a casual-ish reply to another story that got high traffic for multiple days. All those views and recommends are noise to me as far as stats go. The variable for me isn’t that it’s a response, though — some of my responses are very close to the heart of the Medium experience for me, admiration and support for other writers and participants on this site. But if Medium can find a way to characterize and categorize readers, you could break down your stats by reader type, too, and maybe get a better sense of how the readers you care most about are engaging with your efforts.
