Some Days it’s Just Tough.
From time to time, everyone has those days. Some, more than others.
Some call them Mondays. Others call it the entire season of winter. We can only characterize it as being a span of time in which nothing seems to go just right.
Your alarm clock doesn't ring that morning, causing you to be 3 minutes late. That in turns causes you to miss that 7:04 am bus to work and subsequently your almost average morning is slowly turning into a giant pit of hopelessness.
Your daily order of coffee is somehow wrong and that tiny upset seems to be the root cause of your annoyance at everyone around the rest of the day.
Your normal excursion to the gym becomes a dreadfully long excursion in which nothing seems to be going your way at all. The weights feel slightly too heavy, your body feels just a little too slow, and you just can’t seem to find the energy to keep going.
No matter what the reason(s), once it’s begun, we tend to feel as if there’s no possible way to escape the little black cloud that follows. That little cloud seems to carry on to every other aspect of our life and slowly infects everything with it’s own negativity. Your seemingly normal day slowly transforms into a day of varying emotions and downright despair. Nothing else could possibly go wrong, right? Wrong. Things get worse, and the day just continues to just suck.
So in a situation like this, what can we possibly do?
Drown in despair? That seem’s the easiest solution. And sometimes, that’s just what we do. But as I’d optimistically like to believe, life works in funny ways and eventually, something good will come because of the bad. Just as a rainbow will show after a storm, I’d like to hope that by toughing out that little black cloud, life takes pity on us and presents us with something as a reward.
If not, there’s always tomorrow.
Tomorrow has to be better.
There’s no way it could be worse…
