Great article, Oliver. I think this sort of design thinking needs to be passed along to younger designers. The minimalistic movement is very much alive, and is adopted by many designers without hesitation. White space is fine, yes, but making the user think…is not. The idea of “adaptive” design over “responsive” design is a much better approach. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, this requires a lot more design work. However, the idea of a “one experience fits all” experience has been proven ineffective and should no longer be considered sound methodology.
