Uncertain

Wonderful article, Nate. Our tendency to retreat to default behaviours and familiar routines in moments of uncertainty is why recognising and planning around our foibles is so vital. I suffer from anxiety, and I know that in social situations, I occasionally get overwhelmed. So I plan ahead by identifying where the quiet spots are, just in case I need to retreat. That way I can calmly excuse myself rather than just rushing off and confusing those around me. Most of the time, just the knowledge of a back-up plan is enough to still the turbulence inside my head.
