5 Things You Can Do When You Feel Overwhelmed

The feeling of being overwhelmed is horrible, and everybody responds differently. But you can’t hide from it, and you can’t run from it. When the world comes crashing down on you, there are things that you can do to avoid completely breaking down, because that is what happens to many people; they break down. It just gets too much. And it’s not whether a person can handle something or not; nobody is trying to win a trophy here. Life just happens, and sometimes it happens all at the same time. So here are a few things you can do when you feel overwhelmed.

Write it all down.

The first thing to do is to write it all down — every emotion, every feeling. Get it all out of your system. Sometimes just putting things on paper and letting it all it can be a huge release. All that stuff that is bottled up in you, just write out everything. Let it pour out. Don’t keep anything in. A lot of the stress and anxiety that we feel on a day-to-day basis is just stored up in us, and if we could just let it all out, we would start to feel so much better.

Now after writing all of this stuff out, you need to get rid of what you wrote. Kind of like deleting it all. No, you are not escaping reality, you are just giving your emotions a release. You can do this by either just crumpling up those pages you wrote and throwing them away or (safely) setting them on fire. Seriously! Burn those pages up. Basically, what you are doing here is you are letting go. You shared how you are feeling, you gave it everything…
