Colin Kapernick AD

I love the idea of Nike using Colin Kapernick for their 30th anniversary “Just Do It” ad. To me this ad tells me that as long as I am confident in what I believe in I will be victorious. Colin has sacrificed his social life, NFL career and his reputation. This is an issue in the media world because athletes are extremely popular on social media and it’s a way for people to voice their opinions towards the athletes. Also people are making their own videos on Facebook and Twitter sharing their opinions and some are not the nicest. Over this period of Colin protesting many people agree with him, but many people disagree and are outraged with him. This ad has already caused numerous arguments over social media and I think that was Nike’s plan. To stir the pot and see how society reacts to this. This is a risk because it could end up ruining Nike’s reputation and also completely ruin Colin’s.
