An Apology and the State of Play From Here
Guys, let me start with a quick apology. Of late, I’ve not been providing my updates with the same promptness or enthusiasm as when I started. As the journey has gone on, I’ve drifted so far from that ‘kid in a candy shop’ feeling I had when I first arrived. The travel fatigue has set in.
This fatigue isn’t necessarily due to not being anchored anywhere in particular, or even the arduous and tedious bus trips across America, though they’ve certainly played a part.
For the duration of this trip I have also been battling my own personal demons that I have thus far attempted to distance from the happy-go-lucky travel blog and it’s certainly taken its toll.
That’s not to say I haven’t enjoyed so many of my experiences to this point, all the points of excitement in each city, I can guarantee were genuine and there’s many I would relive in a heartbeat, but if I’m honest with both you and myself, outside of those moments has been hard.
I’ll always have fond memories of Manhattan exploration, of my day in Seattle, of festivals and bourbon in Louisville and all of the food along the way that’s made each city unique and beautiful, but this all must be taken with a grain of salt as I work through my own struggles.
As of right now, I do not feel like I am up to the task of providing entertaining, light-hearted adventure blogs and as such will be taking this week in Austin to unwind and take stock of everything around me.
After this week, there are a few ways that my journey can unfold, some of which will see me adventuring more through the next few months, others will see me returning to pre-blog state of play.
When I know, you guys will.
Until such an update, thank you all for reading and enjoying, it’s been a fun ride.
