Have you written about this somewhere else in greater detail?
‘On-chain escrow mechanism’ would be an example of a smart contract… but it doesn’t have to be Turing complete, right? Like Bitcoin’s scripting language, it can be limited to the necessary primitives (valid/invalid spend in Bitcoin’s case; release/return in the escrow example perhaps).
I’m still having a hard time getting my head around Ethereum’s value prop. It seems like the wrong abstraction, to put general computing on a blockchain… what do you think?
