Why “No Commentary” gameplay videos are awesome! (Personal Storytime)

Many people worldwide both watch YouTube and play Video Games. There are many videos to find on the internet of people playing video games either with commentary or without commentary.

You might be thinking, “No commentary? Sounds boring.” It’s not really boring per se, but I agree that is it more interesting to hear the commentator’s voice as they are playing the game and listening to your favorite YouTube star’s voice is very comforting, but there are times you need to wind down and calm down.

This is were my “No Commentary” gameplays come in. There are some people who watch TV to go to sleep, some read a book and others close their eyes and meditate (what do you do to sleep?) For me, you guessed it, I watch no commentary gameplays. Games with no cutscenes or minimal dialogue within the cutscenes are GREAT to watch!

My favorite games to watch be played are “The Lego Games, Halo, Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed.” I also love to watch Minecraft no commentaries as it is a very relaxing game to watch be played as there is wonderful music, really no dialogue, cute animals and sounds and calmness in general. The nether can be creepy, but it’s not bad.

NOTE: Sometimes what happens is when I do this all the time, then it has the opposite effect, I sometimes can’t fall asleep because of the lighting.” of my screen. So, I only occasionally do it.

Also, a really big con about this it music. Some of the video game’s music wakes me up. Skyrim’s battle music is a big culprit for that as it sounds angry and kinda scary especially if you’re caught off guard by it.

Another con is dialogue for some people as sometimes it’s intense and also, sometimes the characters may say things that are not suitable for sleepy time as they can wake you up as psychologically it’s another person speaking. For a more relaxing experience, you can turn the voices off if you are able to (e.g Halo Infinite, Skyrim etc.)

In conclusion, this is a great way to relax as it helps me unwind with a relaxing gameplay. So is it boring, well yes and no. I like it because there is nothing that will startle me with jumpscares. I will NEVER watch a FNAF gameplay no commentary to sleep. NEVER EVER EVER! You know why.

On the other hand, Alien Isolation is one that I can watch to sleep…let that sink in a little bit.
