Maua Mazuri

A week ago, our Maua Mazuri team hosted a stand in the hustle and bustle of the weeklong Farmer’s Day fair in Arusha (in celebration of Nane Nane). The team worked incredibly hard, grinding long hours and sharing their expert knowledge about plant tissue culture banana seedlings with the thousands of farmers who passed through.

Students and Wazee learning about Tissue Culture seedlings

We generated over 350 leads at the fair- and a healthy amount of small sales. But I find myself wondering if it’s possible to make a “Nane Nane” every week via targeted social media marketing in East Africa. I’ve reached out to a few leaders in their field to find if this has been done successfully, and am yet to hear a solid case study- or even anecdote- in which an agro company has a profitable sales channel through online marketing in East Africa

The initial test looks promising.

Has it been done?
Can it be done?
We’ll see…
