I was born black, you hated me.

You hated me before I could walk.

You hated me before I could talk.

You hated me before I could read.

You hated me before I could drive.

You hated me before you pulled me over.

You hated me before you asked me to step out of the car.

You hated me before I reached back to turn my car off.

You hated me before I felt the burn.

You hated me before I asked why you shot me.

You’ve always hated me, I just want to know why?
