Tratos Rolling stock cable draws keen interest at Railtex

Power and communication cables were on visitors `must see’ list at Railtex this week when they called in to Tratos’ stand to see its RS, high temperature, extra flexible power cables.

Tratos which has recently secured new orders to supply the cable for a new fleet of trains operating on the East Anglia train network, designs and manufactures cable for long service life and harsh external environments.

Tratos’ rolling stock cable which were awarded IMQ* approval to EN45545–2 (R15-HL3), employ special fire performance characteristics and will be supplied to a Tier one global train manufacturer who will build and supply the train fleet in Derby in the East Midlands.

As well as its Rolling Stock cable, Tratos noted a keen interest in its ruggedized optical fibre cables for railway trackside and passenger Wi-Fi communications.

On the opening day of the three-day event, Tratos welcomed to stand Paul Plummer, Chief Executive of the Rail Delivery Group and Darren Camplan, Chief Executive of the Railway Industry Association.

Commenting on the exhibition, Chris Harris, Tratos’ Mass Transit Sales Manager said: “It’s been a busy three days and we have received many existing and potentially new customers on stand who came to see what we have to offer in the rail sector. At the same time they enjoyed Tratos’ Tuscan hospitality with a selection of food and drinks from this beautiful part of Italy.”
