1. UNDERSTANDING THE USER

In order to design a good/appropriate product for people, you need to understand the psychology of the user by observing their environment, behavior, their routine etc so that you can gain insights on what is their actual need, wants and expectations from the product. In order to come up with a desirable, feasible and viable one must understand the why, what and how in the right context. Interviewing your users by using techniques like laddering techniques, etc. helps you map the right needs and touch-points thus taking first step towards coming up with a better solution/ product idea.
