A girl I used to work with was deported last week. It fucking sucked.

She was sent back to Vietnam in spite of following the entire process step by step. Quebec, in its infinite racism and ludicrous fear of anything not sounding like French, went against its own process to target people like her. Specifically, people who tried to clear the French language requirement via a language school — a school which, by the way, was reviewed and certified by the government. Do you see where the issue is?

As it happens, the government argued that her French was not up to Quebec standards. A claim that is highly ironic since anyone who actually speaks French knows Quebec French is an abomination. It’s not just horrible for those who listen to it, it’s also just plain and simply wrong. …

The following story is darker than what Lady Di saw just before she walked towards the light. Was that too soon? Not that I care, since I have experienced more grief than her, and she slept with Prince Charles at least twice. Twice too many times, in my very humble opinion.

I was working from home on the same day that the cleaning lady came to do her thing. I have always (bitched) given constructive feedback about her performance to Olivier, but a bad cleaning lady is better than none at all. So we haven’t done shit about it.

My cat is the most affected for personal reasons. He was once trapped behind the toilet while the maid took the nastiest shit in front of him. He hasn’t been the same, and frankly, neither have I. My poor little furball has more PTSD than a Vietnam veteran, and I, who heard the (farts) bombing from outside the door, am just as triggered. But that’s another horror story. …

I finished watching the second season of Elite, and I have some thoughts about it. If I had to describe this show in one sentence, I would say it’s The O.C. meets How To Get Away With Murder on steroids. There are many things wrong with this show, but the worst one is that there will be a third season.

Seriously, why? Hasn’t Spain done enough damage to the world already? Wasn’t the massacre of all pre-Columbian cultures in Latin America enough? Did they really need to extend their reign of terror to all Netflix account holders? …

Orange is the New Black Season 7

I dropped this show after that season where everything got too ridiculous. I think it was season 4 or 5, you know, the one where they showed the inmates rioting after one of their friends is murdered by a guard. I understand the importance of showing police brutality, especially against women of color, but it didn’t have to last all 10 episodes. So I dropped it.

I watched the remaining seasons with little interest and only when I had nothing better to do. For reference, I once watched the washing machine do its thing for a good 20 minutes before deciding to start another episode, so the bar was really low. …

I applied to become a permanent resident two years ago and my emotional and mental health have been a complete disaster ever since.

I had to apply for a study permit, a working permit, a temporary visa, a CAQ, a CSQ, a My Little Pony Fan Club membership card, and much more, just to meet the minimum requirements to then be able to apply to the PR. Can you believe that after all that, they can still reject me if they so want it? Because they can.

I’ve literally spent over a hundred thousand dollars to live the Canadian dream (I don’t even know what it is supposed to be like at this point) and everything is still uncertain… And people still have the audacity to judge me for blacking out every Friday. …
