The Expert (Short Comedy Sketch)

The Expert was about two women trying to pitch her project to specialist in a company in order to obtain their support. Her objective is to have a couple red lines drawn perpendicularly, however, she wants the lines drawn in green and transparent inks. The project that is proposed seems very impossible, but no one, except for the expert seem to see the problem at hand. There is a lack of knowledge from both the company specialists and the women for they do not understand the rules of lines or perpendicularity. I can relate to this video because sometimes in group projects, my peers are too focused on what they want rather than open their minds to suggestions from the rest of the group.

How Miscommunication Happens (And How To Avoid It)

This video was about communication, more specifically, miscommunication. At the beginning, it illustrated different scenarios in which individuals may be misunderstood such as during a presentation or in a conversation that turns into an argument. It stated that miscommunication is inevitable and that it happens often. This is due to the fact that each individual has different perceptions on issues that stems for the way they were raised and their experiences. When an individual hears or sees something, that individual is going to make interpretations based on their own views, ideals, moral, etc. The video mentioned that one must listen not only with our ears, but with our eyes and gut for communication is more than just words. This will be useful to me because I often tend to do other tasks while listening to someone, which, as the video pointed out, can lead to miscommunication.
