How is Shadow Puppetry seen as some form of theater? What is unusual about this type of theater? Is this a form of cinema to you? Why or why not?
Shadow Puppetry is seen as some form of theater because it requires actors to play a role and a plot is being developed. It is unusual because, although, it has actors, they do not speak. Additionally, everything is conveyed through shadows and in pretty monotone colors, such as white, black, and maybe some beige.
How is the art piece Gardens Speak a different and new perspective of theatrical art and a form of the arts? What is unusual of the show from the writer’s experience? Would you do this exhibit? Why or why not?
Gardens Speak is a different and new perspective of theatrical art because it is based on a very sad event that still continues to this day and “brings [the viewer or listener] into painful intimacy with the human cost of the war by acquainting us with the life — and death — of [an individual”. It is too real for some, which makes it unusual. Additionally, when most people think of theatrical art, most think of stuff that is fictional or at least as a pretty happy ending, this on the other hand, does not. I think this exhibit/theatrical art would be very cool to attend, however, I would not attend it.
What feeling does the image of the broken watch make you feel? Do you see it as a form of art? Why or why not?
The image of the broken watch makes me feel very sad. I do see it as a form of it because it could be interpreted in many ways.
