Not the ending I expected, after a piece documenting the pitfalls of social media addiction! The author describes “starting to get neck and arm cramps regularly”, growing “progressively more addicted”, “starting to feel burnt out”, spending “4–5 hours a day on Instagram”. I thought all that was leading to some kind of wake-up call about how pointless it all was, and we could all learn a lesson like “I should spend less time promoting my dog and more time playing with and loving my dog!”
But then the conclusion ended up being “My dog is famous now, yay! I’m going to do this forever even though it stresses me out and consumes much of my waking life.” Not gonna lie, that’s pretty depressing.
