You might be wondering, what is a twitch affiliate?
A twitch affiliate is a twitch streamer who is not only given access to new tools that non-affiliates can’t use, but are also able to profit from their twitch streams!
The requirements for becoming a twitch affiliate are:
- Reach 50 Followers
- Stream for 8 Hours within 30 days.
- Stream on 7 different days within 30 days.
- Have an average of 3 viewers watching your stream within 30 days.
Here are 5 tips on how to become a twitch affiliate as soon as possible, and also potentially grow your channel faster in the future!
Tip #1: Don’t play oversaturated games.
This might not be the best thing to hear if the most popular games on twitch are your favorite to stream. However, it will be very hard for people to find your stream if you’re beneath thousands of other streamers.This is why I recommend playing games that only have a few hundred viewers at most, as your chances of people finding your stream will significantly increase!
Tip #2: Keep talking, no matter what.
You will never know when people will join your stream, and while I understand how discouraging it might be to not see anyone in your chat. You need to stay active and somewhat entertaining for people that click on your stream to potentially stay/follow you. This may sound hard, and take a while to get used to, but it’s an incredibly useful skill/tip!
Tip #3: Try your best to promote on social media!
You’ve probably heard this tip a lot on other sites, but it’s incredibly helpful. But more specifically, I highly recommend that you promote your twitch clips on TikTok. TikTok’s algorithm makes it possible for anyone to get thousands to even MILLIONS of views. Therefore, your clips could potentially get shown to a bunch of people, and people will follow you/come to your future streams!
Tip #4: Try to make your stream stand out from others!
This tip is somewhat similar to the oversaturated streamer one, but it’s incredibly important for your stream to have something special. Whether it’s the games you play, your personality, your stream layout, or anything else. You need to have something about your stream, that will make others want to watch you over anyone else. This might be hard to do, as you don’t want to cross the line of being fake, but it’s extremely recommended.
Tip #5: Try to have as much fun as possible.
If you’re not having fun while streaming, then not only are people going to notice and not enjoy the stream, but you are going to get quickly burnt out. This is why I recommend you try to be yourself and play games that you enjoy, because none of these tips will work if you’re not enjoying the games/things you’re doing on Twitch.
