I would be interested what you consider a good strategy to overcome this phenomenon (almost certainly not possible, in my opinion) or to at least alleviate it and its effects.

(Oh, and I think you are doing Sokrates a bit of injustice here. After all, he was the guy who very much iteratively questioned everything considered normal and “not to be thought about” by his contemporaries … :)
