Take your frown, turn it upside down. And start this Monday like never before!

What can I do today to change the world?

It’s Monday.
The best day to start something new.
Good as January 1st.
Even better than after the summer holidays.
Plus, it happens every week — there’s no reason to wait.

This is my list. Tentative and partial.

  1. Say a warm hello and smile to the bus driver
  2. Ask the girl at the cashier “How are you today?” and listen to the answer
  3. Write a postcard to a friend who’s far away
  4. Buy a book in an independent bookstore
  5. Leave a post-it note on the door of your neighbour
  6. Buy from a local store instead of a chain
  7. Walk 30 minutes without looking at the phone
  8. Bring croissants for everybody in the office
  9. Read a newspaper
  10. Draw something small and happy
  11. Surprise a friend with a visit
  12. Support a fresh enterpreneur on Kickstarter
  13. Tell your boss she did a good thing
  14. Thank the team at the switchboard, customer service or reception
  15. Give yourself a mid-term goal and stick it to your fridge
  16. Eat seasonal fruits coming from local sources
  17. Keep only 2 slides of a presentation deck you’ve prepared: the ones your customer will really be interested in
  18. Post a nice review of a place that deserves it and let them know
  19. Hug people around you
  20. Look at the food ingredients of what’s in your fridge. Throw away (and never buy again) what you can’t understand at first sight

Can you imagine? All this can be done in a single Monday. And all this ignites change in yourself and in the world around you.

Change begins with us as soon as we begin to apply change.

What would you add to this list?
