Ten Rules for Negotiating a Job Offer

Hello Haseeb, Thank you for the interesting read.

I would like to hear your opinion on some matters.

As you mentioned, “well, I don’t want to set high expectations, and the offer is already generous, so I ought to just take it.”, it is very hard to identify yourself, and not always easy to just ‘stick’ a price tag to your own head.

For example, what would it take to be in a position to actually be able to negotiate, would it take you to have XX years of experience? A strong CV? A great list of projects?

Another topic is the country or even continent of negotiation, as I can imagine, this might be a known culture in the United States, but does it also apply in Europe? I have heard several stories here of companies trying to get the same open atmosphere as in the IT world in the US. Though this is mostly not the case yet.

Thank you for your amazing article, I think it’s a well written motivation booster for most of us, as well as a great insight on how this process actually works.
