Azer, you have made a really right thing! But please do not stop at this point. I don’t think it is enough just to believe that the community will eventually create an open alternative to NPM. You are in the right time and in the right place to take care of it yourself. Use your resources to create a website with manifest and start a new NPM alternative project. Do it today before the attention to this issue goes down.
The global namespace for modules is a limited thing and as time goes by more conficlts will arise, I would never again trust my builds to the company that can take my reserved names away with single email from some corporate jerks.
Summarizing, as far as I know the situations like that are called OPPORTUNITY. Community deserve something better than NPM and you can do it. Do not miss it.
