I’m Suspicious of Male “Feminists” — And You Should Be Too
Alicen Grey

I’d like to say that this is my first ever comment on an Article!! Woohoo! I be feeling brave. My big issue here is that the author seems to assume first that the majority of “male feminists” have only become involved with the movement because men are also hurt by the patriarchy. I have never heard a dude say that to my face. If they ever do, I will shoot them down. But I think that we, as feminists, do genuinely hurt ourselves if we take a constantly speculative stance. Men can’t possibly support women out of genuine interest in women’s issues. I believe we must find support where we can. If that support later proves to be disingenuous, by all means we should excise it. I worry that by saying “I’m Suspicious of Male “Feminists” — And You Should Be Too” we are establishing a rhetoric of close mindedness. Suspicion is the root of hate.
