I have been an avid sports fan my entire life and personally have always enjoyed the style of play of Manu Ginobili. I agree with the article that he was the “heart” of the Spurs for all of those years. But I truly admire him for his example on and off the court.

In today’s world, we often see sports stars in the news for domestic violence, drug abuse, or a wide variety of other offenses. To my knowledge, I never recall Manu being in the news for the wrong reasons. Considering the pressures felt my big time athletes, that is no small accomplishment. I also love how that seems to be the Spur way.

He is also someone who young people can look up to. In my personal opinion, those types of people are hard to find now a days.

I also tend to cheer for Ginobili as he truly is the heart of his organization because of his passion. He was obviously a fierce competitor and went about things the right way. I think we all could try to bring passion to the workplace just as he did. Imagine a business run by a bunch if Manus’? I think that would include coming to work day in and day out giving your best effort, motivating those around you, inspiring all, and lifting others to their excellence. Isn’t that a place we would all love to work?

Now as he enters retirement, I look forward to seeing where life takes him and how he will continue to choose to contribute to society on unique but important ways. Thanks Manu for all the good memories!
